Our Story
Aldrin, Founder & Chef of YatYin
Passion, Family, Tradition, and Modern Asian Flavours
YatYin began with a simple idea: to bring authentic Asian flavours to life in a way that feels fresh, modern, and welcoming. Founded by chef and small business owner Aldrin Maminta, YatYin represents a journey built around food, family, and community.
The name YatYin has a special meaning — it is named after Aldrin's son. As a single father, family has always been at the heart of his journey. Building YatYin is not only about creating great food, but also about creating a legacy and a place that represents passion, dedication, and the importance of family.
A New Chapter, A Local Journey
Before opening YatYin, Aldrin operated another food business, but the location became difficult to manage due to the distance and daily travel involved. When the opportunity to take on the YatYin location became available, he decided to take the chance and create a new chapter closer to home — allowing him to continue doing what he loves while balancing the responsibilities of being a father.
Owner-Operated. Chef-Led. Community-Focused.
YatYin is not a chain — it is proudly independent. Every dish is prepared with care, experience, and attention to detail. As a small owner-operated kitchen, Aldrin personally oversees the food quality, preparation, and customer experience.
Being independent allows YatYin to build genuine relationships with customers, listen to feedback, and continually improve. Every meal reflects a commitment to freshness, consistency, and creating food that people enjoy.
Japanese + Pan-Asian Fusion
At YatYin, we celebrate the diversity of Asian cuisine by combining Japanese-inspired dishes with flavours from across Asia. From sushi and ramen-inspired dishes to rice bowls, street food favourites, bubble tea, and refreshing drinks, our menu brings together traditional influences with a modern approach.
Fresh Preparation, Every Order
Great food takes time and care. Wherever possible, we prepare dishes fresh to order, ensuring every meal receives the attention it deserves.
As a small, single-operator kitchen, we recommend customers pre-order whenever possible, especially for larger orders or during busy periods. Pre-ordering helps us prepare ingredients properly, manage cooking times, and provide the best quality experience for every customer.
Supporting the Local Community
YatYin is more than just a place to eat — it is a local story built on family, food, and connection. Our goal is to share exciting Asian flavours with the community while remaining a friendly, independent business that customers can trust.
Thank you for being part of our journey.
